Chongli, Hebei, transformed by 2022 Olympics, now draws millions yearly to its Olympic slopes and growing winter tourism economy.

Four years after hosting 2022 Winter Olympics events, Chongli in Hebei Province has become a major winter sports and tourism hub, drawing over 10 million visitors in 2025. Its Olympic-standard slopes, with a 500-meter vertical drop and high-speed rail access from Beijing, host international competitions and attract skiers year-round. Nearly 30,000 of its 130,000 residents now work in winter sports or tourism, and local businesses have expanded, offering more domestically produced gear. Officials aim to grow Chongli into a globally recognized destination by integrating winter sports with wellness, education, culture, and conventions.
