The outbreak is tied to specific lots distributed by Ambrosia Brands LLC, sold nationally via the company’s website, TikTok Shop, Shein, and eBay. The contaminated capsules, with lot codes starting with SKU 1356 and ending in -1 or -2, have expiration dates through 2027. The strain is resistant to all first-line antibiotics, posing serious risks to young children, seniors, and immunocompromised individuals. Consumers are urged to stop using the product, dispose of it, and seek medical care if symptomatic. A recall has been initiated, and the company is cooperating with health officials.
