Vincent Chan, 45, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for a 15-year pattern of sexual abuse against children as young as two, including touching them while asleep and taking upskirt videos at a Bright Horizons nursery in West Hampstead and a school in Finchley. He also possessed at least 26,000 indecent images of children, including videos of child rape. Judge John Dodd KC called the abuse “utterly wicked, perverse, and depraved,” noting it escalated after Chan began working at the nursery in 2017. He must serve at least 12 years before release and will be on license for eight more years. Parents of victims are pursuing legal action against Bright Horizons, accusing the organization of systemic safeguarding failures that allowed the abuse to continue.
