Telus CEO Darren Entwistle retires in June, succeeded by former CIBC CEO Victor Dodig, as the company reports lower profits but maintains subscriber growth and 2026 targets.
Telus CEO Darren Entwistle will retire at the end of June after 26 years, succeeded by Victor Dodig, former CIBC CEO, who will take over as CEO on July 1.
Dodig, already on Telus’s board since 2022, becomes CEO designate immediately and will join the leadership team in May.
Entwistle will remain CEO emeritus and advise Dodig until April 2027.
Telus reported a fourth-quarter profit of $292 million, down from $358 million a year earlier, with adjusted earnings at 20 cents per share versus 25 cents.
Operating revenue declined slightly to $5.26 billion.
The company added 377,000 subscribers in the quarter, achieving over 1 million net additions for the fourth straight year.
Telus reaffirmed its 2026 targets for up to 4% service revenue growth and adjusted EBITDA growth.
