Supreme Court grants interim bail to filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and wife in ₹30 crore fraud case.
The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt in a ₹30 crore cheating case involving allegations of misappropriating funds meant for film projects.
The court ordered their immediate release from Udaipur jail, directing the Chief Judicial Magistrate to issue a formal bail order with conditions.
The case stems from a complaint by Dr. Ajay Murdia, who alleged the Bhatts created fake bills and diverted money into personal accounts.
The court also scheduled hearings for February 19, issuing notices to the complainant and the Rajasthan government.
The Bhatts were arrested in December 2025 and had previously been denied bail by the Rajasthan High Court.
Also arrested were Dinesh Kataria and filmmaker’s manager Mehboob Ansari.
