The Philippines translated Rizal’s *Noli Me Tangere* into Arabic and released historical documents to promote cultural diplomacy.
On February 9, 2026, the Philippines launched a project to translate José Rizal’s 1887 novel *Noli Me Tangere* into Modern Standard Arabic, aiming to share its themes of freedom and justice with Arabic-speaking audiences.
The effort, led by the NCCA, NHCP, and Philippine Embassy in Baghdad with support from the Department of Foreign Affairs, also marked the release of *Historia Obscura*, a two-volume compilation of Portuguese archival documents on early Philippine history.
Both initiatives support national goals for 2030 and 2026, promoting cultural diplomacy and historical awareness, with copies distributed to academic and library institutions.
