Mexico froze Raúl Rocha Cantú’s accounts over crime allegations; Thailand issued an arrest warrant for co-owner Jakkaphong over fraud.
Mexico has frozen the bank accounts of Raúl Rocha Cantú, Mexican co-owner of Miss Universe, over allegations of organized crime involvement including drug trafficking and fuel theft, as part of an ongoing federal investigation since November 2024. A federal judge issued arrest warrants in November 2025, but a subsequent judge suspended them in December 2025 to protect Rocha Cantú’s rights. The Thai co-owner, Jakkaphong “Anne” Jakrajutatip, faces a Bangkok court arrest warrant after failing to appear for a fraud hearing related to a 30 million baht investment scam, with her company now in debt rehabilitation. Both leaders are under scrutiny amid allegations of rigging the 2025 pageant and other controversies, though the Miss Universe organization has not commented.
