Malawi’s High Court, led by Judge Kenyatta Nyirenda, ruled that Chief Secretary Justin Said’s deployment of senior public officers to state-owned enterprises was illegal, unconstitutional, and null, finding he acted beyond his authority and deliberately omitted key legal provisions.

Judge Nyirenda also sharply criticized the media for spreading misinformation, misunderstanding legal proceedings, and distorting court rulings, calling some reporting misleading and unprofessional, and questioning journalism standards and press credentials.
