Marie, was sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to robbery and violating probation following two purse thefts in December.
The incidents occurred on December 12 and 14 on Albert Street East, with the second involving a punch to the victim’s head.
He received credit for 1.5 days of pre-sentence custody, must serve five additional days, and was placed on two years of probation with conditions including anger management and substance misuse counselling, a ban on contacting the victim, providing a DNA sample, and a lifetime weapons ban.
His criminal record was described as extensive.
The case was presided over by Ontario Court Justice John Condon.
