Hundreds have flocked to Istanbul’s Museum of Innocence ahead of Netflix’s release of its nine-part series adaptation of Orhan Pamuk’s novel, with daily visits rising to around 500—up from 200.
The museum, based on the book’s protagonist’s obsessive collection of 4,213 cigarette butts and 83 other mementos, features displays tied to the novel’s 83 chapters.
Visitors with a ticket from page 485 of the Turkish edition gain free entry.
The surge follows Netflix’s promotional push, drawing international fans despite the platform’s unavailability in China.
The series, produced by Istanbul’s Ay Yapım, underscores Turkey’s growing global TV influence, with its dramas now exported to 170 countries and the nation ranked third worldwide in series exports in 2024.
