Indian food safety officials warned a McDonald’s outlet in Jaipur after an inspection found 40 liters of reused cooking oil unfit for consumption and rotten tomatoes in storage, violating safety standards.
The outlet was given 14 days to correct issues or face stricter action, with samples seized for testing.
The franchise operator, Connaught Plaza Restaurants, said it is cooperating and following global McDonald’s standards.
Officials plan to inspect other McDonald’s locations in the city.
A U.S. McDonald’s spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment.
