Hindustan Unilever Limited hosted "Tea Next 2.0" in Golaghat, Assam, on February 13, 2026, bringing together 256 small tea growers and Bought Leaf Factory representatives to boost sustainability, productivity, and compliance in India’s tea sector.
The event, led with support from NETA and the Trustea Sustainable Tea Foundation, focused on improving green leaf quality through training in pruning and Good Agricultural Practices, addressing pesticide residue limits via compliance with FSSAI and Plant Protection Code guidelines, and advancing regenerative agriculture with soil health and Integrated Pest Management demonstrations.
Thirty top-performing growers were recognized for premium leaf production.
The initiative follows a similar 2025 event in Dibrugarh and reflects ongoing industry collaboration to strengthen smallholder farming and the tea value chain.
