Harris County has approved a public-private deal with the Houston Texans and Howard Hughes Holdings to build a new 22-acre training and headquarters facility on an 83-acre site in northwest Harris County.
The project, set to open in 2029, will move the team off-site from NRG Stadium, where they currently share space with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, limiting access and operations.
The new complex will include training fields, offices, and support spaces, along with retail, entertainment, commercial, hotel, and medical developments.
The team’s lease at NRG Stadium expires in 2032.
