Ghana’s industrial trawlers illegally catch juvenile fish, harming small fishers despite new protections.
A new report by the Environmental Justice Foundation reveals Ghana’s industrial trawlers continue harvesting large amounts of illegal bycatch, including undersized juvenile fish, leading to declining catches for 94% of artisanal fishers and falling incomes for 87%.
