Australian director Simon Stone, known for reimagining classics like Chekhov and Ibsen, is set to direct the Finnish opera *Innocence* about school shooting trauma at New York’s Metropolitan Opera and his fourth film, *Elsinore*, a biopic about actor Ian Charleson, who played Hamlet before dying of AIDS.
His 2024 Seoul production of *The Cherry Orchard* is touring to Adelaide, continuing his global work that centers on women confronting trauma and identity.
Stone, who divides his time between London and Vienna with his family, draws on personal grief and bullying experiences to create emotionally intense, psychologically complex stories.
