A CBP supervisor is charged with harboring an undocumented immigrant he allegedly knew was in the U.S. illegally, after providing her housing, money, and help crossing checkpoints since August 2024.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection supervisor, Andres Wilkinson, 52, has been charged with harboring Elva Edith Garcia-Vallejo, an undocumented immigrant who entered the U.S. on a tourist visa in August 2023 and overstayed.
Authorities allege Wilkinson, a CBP supervisor since 2001, provided her with housing, financial support, vehicles, and assistance crossing checkpoints, knowing her immigration status was unlawful.
Surveillance and interviews confirmed she lived with him and her child in Laredo, Texas, starting in August 2024.
A 2023 background check listing her father as his brother led investigators to believe she was his niece, though no biological link has been confirmed.
The case stems from an April 2025 tip, and Wilkinson faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
He has not entered a plea and remains in custody pending a detention hearing.
