Cambodia's electricity demand rose to 5,932 megawatts in 2025, a 14.4% increase from 2024, with clean energy supplying over 63% of generation—up from 57% in 2023—making it second-highest in ASEAN. The country aims for 70% renewable energy by 2030, with hydropower dominant and solar contributing 18.91% of renewables. By year-end 2025, 99.1% of villages and 96% of homes had electricity access. A new 30 MW cap on rooftop solar installations in 2026 targets large commercial and industrial users, requiring approval, while residential systems under 10 kW remain exempt but must be reported.
