Argentina’s ambassador to India praised Gujarat’s Khavda Solar Park, calling it the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy project, launched in 2020 by Prime Minister Modi.
As of December 2025, the park has achieved 11.33 GW of its planned 37.35 GW capacity, combining solar and wind power to supply millions of homes.
Gujarat leads India in renewables with 42.583 GW of installed capacity, including over 1.1 million rooftop solar systems and 12,700 off-grid solar pumps under PM KUSUM.
The state supports over 237,000 jobs in the sector and plans to launch 285 solar projects by 2025.
These efforts align with India’s national goals of 50% renewable electricity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070.
