19-year-old Samoa international Evah McEwen leaves Newcastle Knights for Canterbury Bulldogs on compassionate grounds.
Evah McEwen, a 19-year-old second-rower and Samoa international, has left the Newcastle Knights ahead of her 2027 contract, moving to the Canterbury Bulldogs on compassionate grounds.
The NSW youth rep, younger sister of NRL player Jermaine McEwen, made 11 appearances for the Knights, scored four tries, and earned the Tarsha Gale Player of the Year award in 2024.
She represented NSW in under-19 State of Origin, played for the Indigenous All Stars, and debuted internationally with Samoa.
Her departure follows other key NRLW exits, including Jesse Southwell and Sheridan Gallagher.
Newcastle has signed Kirra Dibb, Nakia Davis-Welsh, and Cheyelle Robins-Reti ahead of the 2026 NRLW season, opening against Cronulla on July 2.
