U.S. Route 2 through Tumwater Canyon in Washington has fully reopened ahead of schedule on February 11, 2026, restoring two-way travel between Skykomish and Leavenworth after a nearly two-month closure caused by severe flooding and mudslides in December 2025.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) completed emergency repairs, including slope stabilization and road repaving, about a month early.
