Mr Goh Leng Chia, 77, second-generation owner of Singapore’s historic Ah Orh Seafood, died on February 8, 2026, after a prolonged illness involving recurring hospitalizations for lung fluid and a final fever-related admission.
The family-run restaurant, founded in 1919 as a bak kut teh stall and relocated in 1997, will continue under his children’s management, with his daughter overseeing operations and his sons leading the kitchen.
Known for traditional Teochew dishes, the eatery remains a beloved fixture in Singapore’s food scene.
Colleagues praised Mr Goh as a humble, dedicated figure and the heart of the business.
His wake is set for February 12, with the funeral on February 13.
