A Maine man was sentenced to 27 years in prison for producing and possessing child sexual abuse images of two children.
A 24-year-old Maine man, Justin Leonard, was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for producing and possessing child sexual abuse images involving two young children.
Convicted on two counts of producing and one count of possessing child pornography, Leonard admitted to creating the material, which was found in a hidden folder on his phone.
The investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to a search warrant.
Forensic analysis revealed messages expressing a desire to obtain children and searches about Rohypnol and inducing unconsciousness.
The victims’ parents confirmed their identities.
Judge Neumann called the crime “the most heinous offense that can be committed,” and Leonard will serve 10 years of supervised release and pay $20,000 in restitution to each victim.
