A 25-year-old Leavenworth man, Kevin L. Thomas Jr., was sentenced to 73 months in prison for distributing fentanyl-laced pills from his family’s porch, with an additional 11 months for possession, serving both concurrently.
The case stemmed from a 2023 investigation after tips that Thomas sold counterfeit blue M/30 pills—resembling oxycodone but containing lethal fentanyl—on Martin Luther King Drive.
Law enforcement observed him making multiple trips from his vehicle, and a search of his apartment uncovered 64 such pills.
Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson highlighted the extreme danger of fentanyl and the county’s commitment to holding dealers accountable.
