A judge ordered Ohio billionaire Les Wexner to testify in a lawsuit alleging Ohio State University ignored abuse claims by former doctor Richard Strauss.
A federal judge has ordered Ohio billionaire Les Wexner to testify in a lawsuit against Ohio State University over allegations that former team doctor Richard Strauss abused hundreds of students from the 1970s to 1998.
Judge Michael Watson denied Wexner’s bid to block the subpoena, saying plaintiffs deserve to know what he knew about Strauss and when, particularly during his time on the university’s board.
The testimony may reveal whether the university ignored early abuse claims, some dating to 1979, and failed to act.
Wexner must appear for a deposition within 60 days.
He is also set to testify before Congress on February 18 about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and is linked to another high-profile case involving former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries, who faces sex trafficking charges.
Ohio State has settled with about half the plaintiffs, but many cases remain unresolved.
