The Forest Side in Grasmere, Lake District, has earned its first Michelin Green Star in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide ceremony, recognizing its sustainability efforts in fine dining.
The award highlights its one-acre garden growing 125 vegetable and herb varieties, use of foraged and preserved ingredients, homegrown charcuterie, and rainwater and fell water irrigation.
Head chef Paul Leonard led the team, which also holds a Michelin Star and Michelin Key.
One of only eight UK restaurants to receive the Green Star, it was praised for its standout scallop dish, reinforcing the Lake District’s growing reputation for sustainable luxury dining.
