The company, which operates 68 company-owned and 27 franchise stores, faced ongoing financial challenges despite a recent acquisition by U.S. private equity firm Gordon Brothers in December 2025. Global advisory firm Ankura has been appointed as receiver, with a creditors’ meeting scheduled for February 24 to assess the company’s future. While paid orders will be fulfilled, gift cards now require $2 in cash for every $1 of value. The collapse follows declining sales, rising costs, and increased competition, prompting concern among employees, suppliers, and communities.
