The Detroit Tigers have signed veteran outfielder Austin Slater to a minor league contract with a spring training invite.
The 33-year-old, who batted .216 with five home runs and 13 RBIs in 65 games for the White Sox and Yankees in 2025, will earn $2 million if he makes the roster and up to $500,000 in performance bonuses.
Slater, a 2014 eighth-round draft pick by the Giants, has a .248 career batting average and played for five MLB teams.
He became a free agent on November 2, 2025, after being traded from the White Sox to the Yankees.
