Saskatchewan has opened 16 new sober living treatment spaces in Regina, funded with $863,000, as part of its plan to create 500 addiction treatment beds by 2028.
Ten spaces began accepting residents on February 1, with six more set to open soon.
The expansion, managed by Pine Lodge Addictions Recovery, offers structured programming, vocational training, and individualized support to aid recovery and community reintegration.
The province now has 297 of the targeted 500 spaces operational.
The move follows a rise in suspected overdose deaths and is supported by a record $623 million in mental health and addictions funding in the 2025-26 budget.
