The Prince of Wales called Saudi Arabia’s Sharaan Nature Reserve “stunning” and backed its 2035 goal to reintroduce the Arabian leopard.
The Prince of Wales praised Saudi Arabia’s Sharaan Nature Reserve as “stunning” during his final day in the country, highlighting its conservation efforts and natural beauty.
Touring the 1,540-square-kilometer reserve in AlUla, he met with rangers and officials, commended rewilding initiatives including planting acacia woodlands and restoring native species, and joined in planting an acacia tree.
He supported the reserve’s goal to reintroduce the critically endangered Arabian leopard by 2035, backed by the Royal Commission for AlUla and the Zoological Society of London, and noted plans to plant 10 million trees in the next decade.
