Over 194,000 steamers recalled due to burn risk from hot water expulsion.
Thousands of PurSteam Elite Travel and Mighty Lil steamers are being recalled due to a burn risk from hot water being expelled during use. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the recall on February 5, covering about 75,400 Elite Travel Steamers (model PS-510) and 119,000 Mighty Lil Steamers (model PS-550). Between December 2020 and 2024, there were 80 reports of hot water discharge from the Elite model and 392 from the Mighty Lil model, including 14 and 40 burn injuries respectively, with two second-degree burns reported. The products, sold online and in stores from December 2020 through early 2025 for $11 to $35, include units with specific date codes on the bottom label. Consumers are urged to stop using the steamers immediately and visit the CPSC website to return them for a full refund.
