Mayville State University settles gender discrimination lawsuit with former coach Lindsey Johnson for $75,000.
Mayville State University has settled a federal gender discrimination lawsuit with former volleyball coach Lindsey Johnson for $75,000, according to court filings dated February 9, 2026.
Johnson, who coached at the school for 15 years, alleged she was retaliated against after raising concerns about pay and workload disparities between male and female coaches.
She claimed she was paid less than a male baseball coach despite a heavier teaching load and received a "below expectations" evaluation just days before her contract was not renewed.
The settlement, which includes legal costs, was reached without the university admitting fault.
