Germany awards SatService a contract to build a Q/V-band satellite ground station at Munich’s military university for secure, high-speed military communications.
SatService, a German subsidiary of Canadian firm Calian Group Ltd., has secured a contract from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence to build a Q/V-band satellite ground station at Bundeswehr University Munich.
The 4-meter antenna system, designed for geostationary orbit communications, will enable high-throughput, secure satellite connectivity for military trainees and support research and C5ISRT operations.
This marks the first Q/V-band capability at the university, enhancing training in satellite communications and strengthening Germany’s secure space infrastructure.
