Dubai has unveiled Al Layan Oasis, a 1-million-square-metre desert tourism project on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border, set to draw 300,000 visitors yearly.
The development includes walking and cycling paths, camping sites, a visitor center, dining areas, and recreational spaces, with lakes covering a quarter of the site.
As part of a broader green push, Dubai Municipality launched a Dh4 billion plan to plant 1.5 million trees, create 120 new parks, and build 200 sports facilities.
Meanwhile, Umm Suqeim Beach is expanding by 30% with a new observation tower and sea wall.
These projects support Dubai’s strategy to enhance public access to nature and boost tourism through improved infrastructure and private-sector incentives.
