Delhi University has three weeks to respond to appeals challenging a 2025 ruling denying public access to PM Modi’s academic records under the RTI Act.
The Delhi High Court has given Delhi University three weeks to file objections to appeals challenging a 2025 single judge order that denied disclosure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s academic records.
The appeals, filed by RTI activist Neeraj Sharma, AAP leader Sanjay Singh, and advocate Mohd Irshad, contest the ruling that educational credentials are personal information not subject to public disclosure under the RTI Act.
DU’s counsel, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, argued the appeals were delayed and intended to sensationalize the issue, while petitioners said the delay was minor and the information serves public interest.
The court granted the extension and scheduled the next hearing for April 27.
