CBI returned fugitive Sombir Motta from the U.S. to India on Feb. 10, 2026, on murder and firearms charges.
The Central Bureau of Investigation facilitated the return of fugitive Sombir Motta from the United States to India on February 10, 2026, following an INTERPOL Red Notice issued at CBI’s request in February 2025.
Motta, wanted in connection with murder and firearms charges in Haryana, was deported after coordination between the CBI, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the NCB Washington office.
This marks another success in the CBI’s efforts to repatriate fugitives internationally, following the earlier return of another wanted individual in January 2026.
