The Braves signed catcher Jonah Heim to a one-year deal after he was released by the Rangers.
The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a one-year contract with veteran catcher Jonah Heim, who reported to spring training after being non-tendered by the Texas Rangers.
Heim, 30, played 595 of his 608 career games with Texas, hitting .226 with 68 home runs and 277 RBIs, including a career-high .258 with 18 homers and 95 RBIs in 2023 as the Rangers won their first World Series.
He will back up NL Rookie of the Year Drake Baldwin, while catcher Sean Murphy begins recovery from a labral tear in his right hip.
