Aiken County broke ground on February 6 for a new $3 million Fire Training Center on Gun Range Road, funded by Capital Project Sales Tax IV and interest.

Phase 2, backed by $2.5 million each from Aiken County and the City of Aiken via Sales Tax V, will add classrooms, a driver training area, and a burn box.
The center will replace a 30-year-old facility previously used by regional fire departments.
Officials say the new site will serve as a modern training hub for volunteer departments and rank among South Carolina’s top centers.
