A 17-year-old died in a Wyoming County snowmobile crash on Sunday, marking the seventh such fatality in Upstate New York this year.
A 17-year-old from Varysburg, Steven J. Gregorie, died Sunday afternoon in a snowmobile crash on a private trail in Warsaw, Wyoming County.
He lost control of his 2012 Ski Doo, struck a log pile, and was ejected.
A 16-year-old friend riding behind him also lost control, was ejected, and his 2015 Arctic Cat landed on Gregorie.
Bystanders called 911 and provided aid.
Gregorie was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is scheduled.
Authorities found no evidence of foul play.
This marks the seventh snowmobile-related fatality in Upstate New York in 2026.
