UK engineer Stephen Wallis breaks RC car speed record at 234.71 mph.
Stephen Wallis, a 43-year-old UK engineer, set a new world record for the fastest remote-controlled car, reaching 234.71 mph (377.7 km/h) at Llanbedr Airfield in north Wales.
Built over 18 months in his garage, the 10.5kg vehicle, nicknamed "The Beast," used 3D-printed parts, carbon fibre, aluminium, and drone motors, costing about £2,000.
It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and 0 to 200 mph in roughly 10.5 seconds, surpassing the previous battery-powered RC car record by more than 15 mph.
Inspired by childhood passion and renewed by his son’s interest, Wallis overcame technical challenges, including electrical fires, to achieve the feat, confirmed by Guinness World Records.
