Two new bridges in Jammu and Kashmir, completed under Project Sampark, now provide safer, year-round access to remote border regions, cutting travel time and boosting connectivity, jobs, and security.
The Border Roads Organisation has completed two key bridges in Qila Dharhal Tehsil, Jammu and Kashmir, under Project Sampark, improving connectivity and safety in remote border areas.
The 60-meter Bhawani Sethu Bridge cut travel distance from 30 km to 11 km, linking Bhawani, Nowshera, and Qila Dharhal, while the Jambhir Steel Bridge provides all-weather access to the Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway.
These projects enhance access to schools, healthcare, and emergency services, reduce seasonal isolation, create local jobs, and improve security by offering "dead ground" for movement near the Line of Control.
Work is nearly complete, with BRO conducting safety checks.
