Two Essex friends, Tom Morris and Joseph Ball, completed a 100-mile ultramarathon in Cornwall during Storm Ingrid, finishing in 31 hours despite heavy rain, strong winds, and flooded, muddy terrain.
They placed 110th overall, relying on mutual support to overcome exhaustion and doubt.
The duo, who trained since June, became the first recorded runners to complete the full 41-mile length of Essex’s River Crouch during training.
