Target is cutting about 500 jobs in distribution centers and regional offices as part of a restructuring to boost in-store staffing and improve the customer experience under new CEO Michael Fiddelke.
The company will consolidate store districts overseeing nearly 2,000 stores and redirect resources to frontline labor, including additional hours and training, while maintaining starting wages of $15 to $24 per hour.
The move follows a previous announcement in October to cut around 1,800 corporate roles.
Target has not commented on the latest changes, but the stock dropped 17 cents to $115.42 after the news.
