Sydney barrister Mark Dennis, 60, died Feb. 10, 2026, days after being charged with child abuse material offenses following a trip to Cambodia.
Mark Philip Dennis, a 60-year-old Sydney barrister and co-founder of the youth charity Reasonable Cause, died at his Leichhardt home on February 10, 2026, after being charged with child abuse material offences.
He was arrested in January at Sydney Airport following a search that reportedly uncovered explicit images and messages involving minors on his phone after his return from Cambodia.
Dennis, who chaired a charity supporting disadvantaged Cambodian youth, was released on bail and due in court on March 18, when charges were expected to be withdrawn.
The Cambodian Children's Fund ended its partnership with Reasonable Cause after the allegations.
A coroner’s report will be prepared.
Dennis, admitted to the legal profession in 1991, had authored legal publications on criminal law.
