Standard Chartered appoints Peter Burrill interim CFO, replacing Diego De Giorgi, who joins Apollo Global as EMEA head.
Standard Chartered has named Peter Burrill interim group chief financial officer, effective immediately, succeeding Diego De Giorgi, who is leaving after a two-year tenure.
Burrill, currently group head of central finance and deputy CFO, will lead the finance function in London while the bank searches for a permanent replacement.
Group CEO Bill Winters said Burrill’s appointment ensures continuity and strategic momentum.
De Giorgi will join Apollo Global Management as a partner and head its Europe, Middle East, and Africa operations, replacing Rob Seminara.
Apollo, which has its EMEA headquarters in London, managed about $938 billion in assets as of 2025, with EMEA accounting for nearly 20%.
