The Supreme Court of Pakistan denied a request for an immediate meeting between PTI leader Latif Khosa and jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, stating that such an order requires prior notice to the government and proper legal process.
The court found the petition ineffective, citing its basis on an August 2023 order and pending cases in other courts.
It adjourned the matter and directed the government to respond.
The court also formed three-member benches to hear appeals against the acquittals of Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case, dismissed bail petitions in the Al-Qadir Trust and Toshakhana cases, and postponed hearings on bail cancellation petitions linked to the May 9 incidents for two weeks.
