Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma received the CBCI National Award 2026 from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India during its 37th General Body Meeting in Bengaluru on February 10, 2026.
Honored as India’s only Catholic Chief Minister, Sangma was recognized for his leadership, public service, commitment to education, environmental stewardship, and inclusive governance.
The inaugural award, part of an annual recognition of Catholics who embody Gospel values through service and innovation, celebrated his contributions to nation-building and youth empowerment.
