Mazda posted a net loss in first nine months of 2026 fiscal year, but kept full-year profit forecast amid sales decline.
Mazda Motor reported a net loss of 14.71 billion yen for the first nine months of its 2026 fiscal year, down from a prior-year profit of 90.58 billion yen, due to a 5.1% decline in net sales to 3.50 trillion yen.
The company posted an operating loss of 23.12 billion yen, compared to a prior-year profit of 148.25 billion yen.
Despite the downturn, Mazda maintained its full-year profit forecast, expecting an attributable profit of 20 billion yen and operating income of 50 billion yen, while lowering its net sales outlook to 4.82 trillion yen.
In Tokyo trading, shares rose 10% to 1,333.50 yen, reflecting confidence in its long-term strategy.
