Luzerne County proposes updating procurement rules to match inflation-adjusted state thresholds, requiring bids over $24,500 and adding labor standards.
Luzerne County is considering updating its purchase rules to align with Pennsylvania’s annual inflation-adjusted thresholds, raising the quote requirement to purchases between $13,200 and $24,500 and requiring public bidding for amounts over $24,500.
The change, aimed at simplifying procedures and keeping pace with inflation, would allow automatic updates without future council votes.
It also includes new prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements for larger construction projects.
A vote is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre.
