Josiah Dirs won the men’s sprint triathlon in Orange on Feb. 8, with Mudgee Red Devils leading the interclub standings ahead of the final race in Dubbo on March 1.
Central West triathletes competed in rainy conditions at Orange’s Gosling Creek course on February 8, with Josiah Dirs of the Orange Piranhas winning the men’s sprint in 1:02:09 for his second straight victory.
The Mudgee Red Devils lead the interclub standings with 383 points, followed by Orange Piranhas (356) and Dubbo Hippos (334).
Ian Crafter, a 70–79 age group athlete with 25 Ironman finishes, placed 1:40:19 and was named Dubbo’s 2026 Australia Day Sportsman of the Year.
The final round of the series will be held in Dubbo on March 1.
Youth sports in Bathurst, including basketball, are also being recognized for fostering life skills.
