A federal judge in Alabama has blocked Charles Bediako from playing for the University of Alabama for the rest of the 2025-26 season, ruling he is ineligible under NCAA rules after previously entering the NBA Draft and playing in the G League.
The decision, issued by Judge Daniel F. Pruet, denied Bediako’s request for a preliminary injunction, stating he failed to prove irreparable harm or a reasonable chance of success.
Bediako, who played five games and averaged 10 points and 4.6 rebounds, had been allowed to return under a temporary restraining order.
The NCAA praised the ruling as a defense of college sports integrity, while Alabama coach Nate Oats criticized the inconsistency in eligibility rules.
